The picture that shows up next to your posts is called your avatar. It's pretty easy to change it, once you navigate your way through roughly 10,000 menus.

If you want to cut to the chase the link is:
http://www.rockpoolh...ers&area=avatar

To get there the long way, click through the following,

  • in your user bar, to the right of where your user name is displayed, at the top of the page, "my settings"
  • under the heading "your options" click on the word/button "profile" (it's sandwiched in there between "blogs" and "forums"
  • now in the menu options on the left hand side, select "change avatar"
If you make it that far without getting lost in the woods, you are faced with two choices. You can either upload or link to an avatar you have made yourself or found somewhere, or you can choose from our lovely selection of pre-installed avatars.

To choose an avatar from our gallery of pretty pictures, scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the following words:

Pre-installed avatars
Choose an avatar from one of our galleries:

In the drop down box where it says "choose a category" pick one of the themes that sounds interesting to you or take a wild stab in the dark... Once you've selected the category, after a minute or so the page will reload with lots of little pictures (awwww). If any of them take your fancy, click on the little empty circle next to the avatar's name (directly underneath each avatar). Once you've done that, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "save changes" button - and voila!!! You have a whole new look!
